Parents Visit!!!

October sure has been a fun filled month for us.  At the beginning of the month my parents came for a visit along with my brother Wade who joined them for the last day they were here.  We had lots of fun while they were here.  We went fishing on the Big Horn River, went to the Little Big Horn Battlefield, went to church, and had an eventful night of FHE and realizing that we had a mouse in our house.(all of which were very entertaining.)  We were sad to see them leave but were so glad that they came, and hope that they come more often. (which I think they are planning on).  Here are some of the pictures that were took while they were here.

As soon as we all got there Jon got to work getting
everyones poles ready.

Landen happy that Jon is getting his fishing pole ready.
Anderson waiting patiently.

Gage all smiles

Me and my Dad

we had been there not even 10 min. when Anderson caught his 1st fish ever.
He didn't know how to reel it in so Grandpa just told him to run, and run he did,
half way up the boat ramp dragging his fish behind him. It was very comical.
When I got to him I help him reel it in.

Anderson admiring his fish.

Anderson holding up his fish.  He was very excited about it.
Once we put it in the cooler he would go back every little bit
just to look at is.  Very cute!

A very HAPPY Anderson!!!

The weather was not the best in fact it was cold and rainy,
but my Dad sure was a trooper!!!

Me(top), my Mom (left), and Gage bottom) all fishing.
This was the first time my Mom had every been fishing in her life.
I can't wait to go again the next time they come.  Hopefully then we will
have better weather.

Unfortunately we didn't get to cooking up the fish while my parents
were still here, but here they are.  Jon and Anderson each caught one.

Cooking!

Scary!!!

This one still freaks me out!
The kids kept asking to feel their teeth.  They didn't
care much for the meat though. :-)

BIRDS!!!!!

I have been meaning to post this awhile ago.  At the very beginning of this month the birds showed up to finally eat the grasshoppers that ate all of our garden.  They are a little late but I guess it's better late than never right?  Anderson and I got a kick out of watching them while the other boys were at school.

I felt like I was in the movie "Birds".  It was really cool to watch them chase and eat the grasshoppers.  Hopefully they will come a little earlier next year.

Gage's 6th Birthday!!!!

Today is Gage's 6th Birthday!  WOW!  Where has the time gone?  I can't believe how big he is.  I took cupcakes into his class this afternoon for snack time.  It was so fun watching him and how excited he was.  When I asked him if he wanted me to bring in cupcakes for his birthday of course he said YES!!!  However, he told me that on each cupcake he wanted something special.  So off to wal-mart we went to find just the right stuff.  Gage picked out sparkling jeweled rings for the girls and bugs for the boys.  He also wanted a ring of M&M's around the cupcakes too.  I think they turned out pretty cute.  Gage sure had fun passing them out to the kids in his class.  Tomorrow is his birthday party at the park.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.  I'm sure it will be fun.

Cupcake for Gage's class. (sorry the pic turned out blurry)

Wagon and Horseback riding!

Today Grandpa McNiven took us all on a little wagon ride with a new team that he is breaking in together.  Then Jon, the boy, and I all went on a horseback ride.  It was the first time that Landen and Gage got to ride all by themselves.  They did fantastic!!!  We all had lots of fun.  It was also the first time that the boys and I have been able to ride this year.  The weather was absolutely beautiful.  Hopefully we’ll get to go again before winter.
Landen & Gage playing horse shoes while we waited to board the wagon.
Grandpa driving the teams.
Jon finally getting a much needed break.

It took Gage a couple of tries but he eventually got it too.
He was then over the moon on "Dusty".
Even Anderson took a crack at it.

All ready to go!
Jon leading us down the trail and still managing to
take pictures behind his back.
Oh what fun!  We sure live in a beautiful place.
After about an hours ride we headed back.  Which was just fine with me because I was already sore.  It was worth is though.  We all had lots and lots of fun.
